Okay,  but the 'Show Desktop' icon and the 'Trash' icon are gone!

  System menu not available

Status in “gnome-panel” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in “gnome-session” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  In gnome-panel / gnome-session-fallback the System menu is not there.
  In the top menu bar there is the menus 'Applications' and 'Places' but not 'System'.

  beta)
