[Bug 1470979] Re: ghostscript 9.15+dfsg-0ubuntu2 segmentation fault
FYI, for anyone else who might find this entry, I found two possible
workarounds:
a) use pdftops to convert a pdf file into a ps file that will safely
print (note, this is pdftops, *not* pdf2ps)
b) installing ghostscript, ghostscript-x, libgs9, and libgs9-common
packages 9.16~dfsg~0-0ubuntu1 found here (proposed for Ubuntu Wily
15.10):
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ghostscript/9.16~dfsg~0-0ubuntu1
The b) option is nicer because I'm back to being able to print natively
from my usual programs, and fortunately it did not require any extra
dependencies beyond those already present on my 15.04 system.

Title:
ghostscript 9.15+dfsg-0ubuntu2 segmentation fault
Status in ghostscript package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Precise details and an example pdf file to reproduce the problem can
be found in the ghostscript bug tracking system:
http://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=695862
I can confirm the problem on Ubuntu 15.04, and it also prevents me
from being able to print certain pdf files through cups (the print job
hangs in the queue and printing stops on the offending page).
The problem has been fixed upstream in 9.16, but this has not been
propagated to Ubuntu as far as I can tell.
