Precise details and an example pdf file to reproduce the problem can be

I can confirm the problem on Ubuntu 15.04, and it also prevents me from
being able to print certain pdf files through cups (the print job hangs
in the queue and printing stops on the offending page).

The problem has been fixed upstream in 9.16, but this has not been
propagated to Ubuntu as far as I can tell.
