[Bug 1488493] Re: Application window stops responding if network-accessed file because temporarily unavailable

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

Title:
Application window stops responding if network-accessed file because
  temporarily unavailable

Status in gedit package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  1) Create a virtual linux server using libvirt or anything with a pause button, SSH enabled.
  2) Using nautilus to open an SFTP connection to it (sftp://myserver.local).
  3) Open a file using gedit from nautilus.
  4) Pause the server in libvirt.
  5) Try typing something.
  6) The window turns grey until you un-pause the server.

As accessing the file is not an essential activity when you're typing,
I would not expect the window to hang, I would expect it to carry on
  as though nothing had happened.
