[Bug 569078] Re: Pidgin perl plugin signals aren't triggered

Thanks for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. Sorry we
don't always have the resources to get to every bug report. Ubuntu 10.04
is no longer supported so I'm going to close the bug.

Also, It has been fixed upstream for a newer release.

Title:
Pidgin perl plugin signals aren't triggered

Status in pidgin package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: pidgin

Lucid's current version of Pidgin (2.6.6) has the following known bug:

Signals no longer work in Perl plugins
  http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/11431

This bug effectively breaks most perl pidgin plugins entirely. This
bug has already been fixed upstream and will be corrected with the
next version. I believe this to be a significant regression, and
suggest applying a combination of the patches in each of the two
  revisions listed here:

  http://developer.pidgin.im/viewmtn/revision/info/67de3fff150c538c01ca66706c29a8f19cbfeff1
  http://developer.pidgin.im/viewmtn/revision/info/3762c9332c14ac3b681bae2c99c49773c2e46e8a

I'm currently running a version of pidgin patched this way, and the
  regression no longer exists.
