[Bug 602532] Re: Pidgin causes KDE tray to grow to excessive size over time

Thanks for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. Sorry we
don't always have the resources to get to every bug report. Ubuntu 10.04
is no longer supported so I'm going to close the bug.

I'm guessing it was fixed as comment #2 alludes to.

Title:
Pidgin causes KDE tray to grow to excessive size over time

Status in pidgin package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: pidgin

The longer pidgin runs, the larger KDE's tray grows. Eventually it
reaches over 600px wide (even with half the icons hidden), most of
  that being blank space.

For a long time I was using "pkill plasma-desktop" to get it back to a
normal size. I didn't have it happen for a while, and today I used
Pidgin for the first time in months, and it happened. As soon as I
quit Pidgin, the tray plasmoid reverted to its proper (that is, no
  200px-wide gaps) size.
