[Bug 1502518] Re: Xorg crashed with SIGABRT in OsAbort()
I don't think this is a duplicate, anyway not one with the same cause.
This started occurring after the upgrade to 15.10 beta; it wasn't an
issue on 15.04.
Additionally, gdm does not even start / show the login prompt, while the
original post clearly states that the user logged in first.

Bug description:
Upgraded from 15.04 to 15.10 using update-manager -d. I'm running
GNOME Shell, and as such was using gdm.
gdm will immediately crash X before showing the login prompt. Using
dpkg-reconfigure gdm I was able to switch to lightdm, which works.
Hence the problem seems to lie in gdm or the xorg/gdm combo.
