[Bug 1515551] Re: Several laptops unstable with 15.10 kernels

 

janl, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.

With just the HP laptop (not the SONY), could you please run the following command once from a terminal as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:
apport-collect -p xorg 1515551

Please ensure you have the package xdiagnose installed, and that you
click the Yes button for attaching additional debugging information.

When reporting xorg related bugs in the future, please do so via the

- After upgrading my two laptops (HP EliteBook 8470p, Sony Vaio, both
- several years old) to 15.10 both started freezing within 12 hours of
- booting and the screens started flickering when X did fade-out and fade-
