[Bug 1515784] Re: UHD resolution not found when logging in, can select after login
Johan Van de Wauw, if you boot into a kernel from Vivid that was
installed when this was working, is this problem still reproducible?

Title:
UHD resolution not found when logging in, can select after login
Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Hi,
After updating from vivid to wily I noticed my screen no longer boots
in UHD resolution. I can set the resolution during the session, but on
next login it returns back to full hd. This is a regression from
vivid, where the resolution worked without problem.
This happens with different window managers.
In cinnamon I get an additional error, which is solved by removing
.config/monitors.xml
none of the selected modes were compatible with the possible modes:

I'm willing to invest some time in trying to find a solution.
