[Bug 1535474] [NEW] stuck on render ring / crash

 

Public bug reported:

1.  start up ubuntu

2. "System program detected" window comes up.

3. click "reoprt problem"

4. Authentication Required window comes up.

5. start typing password

6. Furthest I've gotten is 2 characters type before GPU crash seems to
occur as per dmesg:

[  108.816054] [drm] GPU hangs can indicate a bug anywhere in the entire gfx stack, including userspace.
[  108.816061] [drm] Please file a _new_ bug report on bugs.freedesktop.org against DRI -> DRM/Intel
[  108.816064] [drm] drm/i915 developers can then reassign to the right component if it's not a kernel issue.
[  108.816067] [drm] The gpu crash dump is required to analyze gpu hangs, so please always attach it.
