  no sound below certain volume

Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  When using the system volume control, the "Master" mixer reaches 0 and
  the output is muted before the volume control reaches 0%.

  This workaround works, but even at the lowest volume setting sound will not be very quiet:

  I suspect that that the sound driver is not giving the right mixer name information to PulseAudio, as described on this page:
