Title:
  search all messages limits to max 400 messages

Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: thunderbird

  Whenever I search for a rather general term, that should result in
  over 400 matches, the search results count only 400 messages or less.

  To reproduce: I select the search box in the upper right hand corner;
  I choose 'search all messages'; I type a search term of a fairly
  generic nature (of which I know there should be more than 1000
  matches).

  What happens: A new tab opens with a bar chart giving a time-based
  overview of the number of matches. Below the chart is the text "10 of
  400" (sometimes "399", sometimes much less).

  What I expected: I expected the text to read "10 of 1350" or so. The
  real number differs with the number of matches.

  Why is this a bug: the search box suggests to 'search all messages'
  but instead 'searched some messages'. This caused me to miss several
  messages matching the search terms.
