Title:
My audio HW is broken in U9.10
Status in alsa-driver package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
U9.10, i386. Sound card is in PCI slot, it is ForteMedia 801. There is sound card on the motherboard too but I don't use it.
00:0a.0 Multimedia audio controller: Fortemedia, Inc Xwave QS3000A [FM801] (rev b2)
Second. Sound preferences in Volume control has dialogue like this
(INPUT):
Choose device for sound input:
o Internal Audio Analog Stereo
o Internal Audio Analog Stereo
Is this dialogue about two different devices with the same name? Is
the same device listed twice? Very confusing...
BTW, audio was working in Ubuntu 8.04.3 on the same PC fine; at least
much better compared with U9.10. I observed similar issues in FC11
before.

CheckboxCommand: alsa_record_playback
CheckboxData: Sound is terrible. 8.04 sounds wery well but 9.10 is serius stepback. I hear siome sounds but with gaps; maybe that buffers are played in wrong order or some timer problem. Not only here all sounds. Something was recorded, thsiis good point.
CheckboxDescription:
Open the volume control application by right-clicking on the speaker icon in the panel and selecting "Sound Preferences". Select the "Input" tab and choose any alternate (non-default) device(s). Select the "Output" tab and choose any alternate (non-default) device(s). When you are done, click the Test button, then speak into the microphone. After a few seconds, your speech will be played back to you.
Did you hear your speech played back?
