Title:
typing ^L with the desktop focused materializes a mostly-useless
  "location" field

Status in Nautilus:
  New
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When I focus the desktop by clicking on it and then type Control-L,
the wallpaper moves down and a location field materializes. Since
this field is mostly covered by the menu bar (see attached), it's hard
to see and difficult to use, but I can copy out the current contents,
  which are "x-nautilus-desktop:///".
