Title:
No sleep mode after fullscreen movie playback
Status in “totem” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
After a movie has finished playing in fullscreen, totem continues to
block the system from going into sleep mode. This is probably 'cause
it does not quit fullscreen mode after playback end. To ways to fix
this: either fix the fullscreen code, so that it stops stopping the
system from going into sleep mode when playback has stopped, or, like
VLC - quit fullscreen mode when playback ends, thus allowing system to
go to sleep.
It's my humble opinion that this is a serious flaw in totem - just
think of all that energy being consumed! The environmental impact of
fixing this bug enourmous.
I am using 10.04 and totem 2.30.2-0ubuntu1. I do not know if this has
been fixed in later releases of totem.
