[Bug 856101] [NEW] No network interfaces configured after login

 

Public bug reported:

Recent update, approximately 2011/09/19, network interfaces are no longer enabled and network applet is not in top bar. I can configure the network manually with: sudo ifconfig eht0 up && sudo dhclient3 eth0
Also, the network settings applet in system settings gives the following error: The system network services are not compatible with this version.

A second laptop with completely different hardware, but at same package
versions is not experiencing any problems. It's an eepc 901.
