here for us to tell what the problem is.

If you still experience the problem, could you please trigger it once, and then attach these files:
/var/log/dpkg.log
/var/log/apthistory.log
/var/log/syslog

Title:
  in  progress for a second then stops

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  i click to download.  it says 'in progress' the little arrows start
  spinning then stop and it goes blank.  i click it again and it does
  the same . that's all.
