[Bug 860884] [NEW] Try to open an already opened app on a different workspace will get you back to the first workspace

Public bug reported:

If you open a terminal or nautilus on one workspace and than go to
another workspace and try to open the same application again (like a
terminal), it will take you back to the first workspace...

This may be a design decision but to me this is a BUG, what is the point to change workspace and than have to go to another workspace to be able to open an application that you want to have in the second or 3rd or 4th workspace?!
If you run apps on a desktop and you decide to have multiple workspaces, you want multiple copies of the same application in different workspaces, otherwise WHY to have workspaces???

It is a lot more work to have to go back between workspaces just to be able to open an application that you already have running... and you may say but you already have it open... YES!!! BUT I WANT A NEW ONE!!! And I want it in ANOTHER workspace... like I want to have a terminal window in each workspace or I want a few nautilus open in one workspace and a new one in another...
WHY?! Because it is a DESKTOP, and I want to be able to do things in parallel... like copy files in one workspace, check documents in another, program in a 3rd and so on...
And I do this every day!!!

it may be better than just remove workspaces...

** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
