the bug, feel free to open new bugs about other issues you might find
though

Title:
"About Me" Instant Messaging options should be updated
Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
At the moment the options for Instant Messaging are:
Jabber
Yahoo
MSN
AIM/iChat
ICQ
Groupwise
I tried to look up some hard statistics on IM protocols, but all I
found was the information on this page:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant_messaging#User_base
Facebook and Skype have the most users in the world so it would make
sense to include them in the list of protocols :)
Even Google Talk might be a good one to add too.
If we add these extra protocols in, we'll have a lot of things that
will create clutter. A better UI design could be to have a dropdown
list for the protocol, and then a field for the username. We could
have a little + button to add another line, where you could select
another protocol and another username.
This way we can cover more protocols with less clutter in the UI :)
