Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
This problem has been fixed in gcalctool version 6.2.0, the version included in Ubuntu Oneiric Release, so I am setting it to Fix Released.

  When converting temperatures in the extended mode of gcalctool the unit symbol is °K for Kelvin. This is wrong and should be just K:
  0° C = 273,15 K and not
  0° C = 273,15° K
