Title:
  eog fails to start

Status in “eog” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
eog fails to start but continues to run in the background; I'm using
Lucid with all updates and eog 2.30.0-0ubuntu1. This is the stdout
  when running "eog test.png":

(eog:8683): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to read the recently used
resources file at `/home/delan/.recently-used.xbel', but the parser
failed: Error reading file '/home/delan/.recently-used.xbel': Is a
  directory.

  (eog:8683): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_app_info_equal: assertion
  `G_IS_APP_INFO (appinfo1)' failed

  (eog:8683): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_app_info_equal: assertion
  `G_IS_APP_INFO (appinfo1)' failed

(eog:8683): Gtk-WARNING **: Attempting to store changes into
`/home/delan/.recently-used.xbel', but failed: Failed to rename file
  '/home/delan/.recently-used.xbel.CNV9AV' to '/home/delan/.recently-
  used.xbel': g_rename() failed: Is a directory

It seems that removing the ~/.recently-used directory temporarily
fixes the problem, but upon recreation of that directory (by removing
the ~/.recently-used file and making the directory) eog still works
sometimes. The problem is quite intermittent.
