Title:
[charpick] add a character selection widget to the "add a custom
palette" dialog
Status in “gnome-applets” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-applets
The main motivation for which a user would like to add its own palette is to add characters to which he doesn't have access with the standard palettes or the keyboard.
But the dialog that allow to add a custom palette provides only a text field. The user can pick the characters from the existing palette using the applet, but this is insufficient in the case where the missing character is not in the existing palettes.
Here are a few ways of improving the usability of this dialog:
- add a button to launch the "gucharmap" (easy fix)
- add a character selection widget (integrated gucharmap, hard fix?)
