Title:
gnome-open: doesn't handle .desktop files properly
Status in “libgnome” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
If you run "gnome-open whatever.desktop" it opens gedit showing you
the textual content of the .desktop file. I expected it to open the
appropriate application for the .desktop file, exactly as if you'd
double clicked on it in nautilus. For example "gnome-open
/usr/share/applications/users.desktop" should run "users-admin" (as
specified by the Exec line), and a .desktop file containing a
"URL=http://blah" line should open a web browser.
Found in libgnome2-0 version 2.32.0-0ubuntu1 (from 10.10).
