Title:
  gdm loads very long

Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gdm

Notebook LG R500-U.CP21R1. Videocard NVidia GeForce 8600M GS. System loads very very long.
Ubuntu shows violet screen (without loading progress) for ten minutes and after this loads gdm (I tryed install kdm and xdm - they start long too).
If I load system in recovery mode from grub (and notebook hangs, so I need power off, then power on and go to recovery again. I don't know why, but notebook hangs on every odd attemp to start recovery mode and loads on every even attempt) and starts gdm manually by "sudo gdm start" it loads fast. But if I do "sudo startx" instead, X.org loads, but after 10 minutes loads gdm and I must login again.

I found this problem in 10.10 but in 11.04 it has worsened.
