Title:
screen brightness adjustment misses levels
Status in “gnome-power-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
Maverick only supplies 4 brightness increments on my PC, although I
have 8 possible increments - my LCD supports the following levels:
$ cat /proc/acpi/video/VID/LCD/brightness
levels: 12 24 36 48 60 72 84 100
current: 72
For instance, when the screen is set to maximum (100), pressing the
brightness down keys (FN-down arrow) makes the brightness go to 72,
then 48, then 24, then 12. Pressing up from here makes the brightness
go to 36, then 60, then 84, then 100.
I'm currently running a 2.6.36-rc3 kernel, but the problem also exists
in the stock Maverick 2.6.35 kernel.
