Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable
release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test

  battery status odd

Status in “gnome-power-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: indicator-application

  The battery status on my notebook is odd, it shows the icon of a empty
  battery even if "acpi" reports:

  $ acpi
  Battery 0: Discharging, 98%, 04:47:25 remaining
