Message #39516
[Bug 744705] Power manager applet lists 2 keyboards, but I only have 1
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be
reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the stable
release - Oneiric Ocelot. It would help us greatly if you could test
with it so we can work on getting it fixed. You can find out more about
it at http://www.ubuntu.com/download . Thanks again and we appreciate
your help.

Title:
Power manager applet lists 2 keyboards, but I only have 1
Status in “gnome-power-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
I have my laptop plugged into a KVM switch that is connected to one
keyboard and one mouse. But if I click the power manager icon, it
lists:
Laptop battery X:YZ until charged
Keyboard (100%)
Keyboard (100%)
As you can see Keyboard is listed twice. But I only have one! Maybe
because the laptop itself has a keyboard? The keyboard plugged into
the KVM switch is wireless and indeed has a battery, so it makes sense
for it to be listed, but the laptop keyboard has no battery apart from
the battery of the laptop itself.
If I click on either of the keyboard entries, a window pops up titled
"Power Statistics." Along the left hand side there is a keyboard
entry, but here there is only 1. And for Vendor it says, Logitech,
Inc, Model, Keyboard+Mouse. My wireless keyboard is logitech brand, so
this makes sense. So for some reason it only lists an additional
keyboard when I click the icon.
P.S. Asking users for the release of ubuntu they're using after you
just required them to run a bug reporting tool to collect information
is silly :P
