[Bug 574698] Re: Flat channel listing option (no servers shown)

[Closing as I no longer use xchat-gnome and no one else is subscribed or
marked as affected. xchat seems to have better options for managing
large lists of server/channels.]

Title:
Flat channel listing option (no servers shown)

Status in “xchat-gnome” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xchat-gnome

  Please add a preference option to show only channels in the Sidebar;
  IOW, omit the servers.

I routinely follow IRC discussions on a number of different channels
across a variety of different IRC servers. In many cases there is
only one channel on the server I am following, yet this uses up two
lines in the Sidebar. A consequence of this is that I'll have to
scroll in the Sidebar a lot more than I'd like to.

The preference should cause the Sidebar to display as a list of
channels instead of a tree of servers containing channels. An
additional benefit of this is that it will allow the width necessary
for displaying the Sidebar to be reduced.
