Similar to Bug #882893, which is for Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric).

Some (older) graphic cards do not like Screen-Off (used by Gnome
Screensaver), and CRASH ..

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

  I am using the Floating Ubuntu on Natty and for two times now, the
  screensaver seems to freeze when I try to exit from it back to my
  desktop by actually using the computer

  I should (as it used to) redraw the desktop... I had to
  Ctrl+Alt+Bkpspc (kill gdm+X) to recover from it
