Message #45499
[Bug 885913] [NEW] Arrow keys navigation broken since upgrade to 11.10
Public bug reported:
Since the upgrade of Ubuntu from 11.04 to 11.10, navigating with the
arrow keys in nautilus has become much harder than it used to be since
it's no longer possible to use the right/left keys to navigate through
all the files. E.g. in icon view when selecting the first file in a row
and pressing the right arrow to go through all the files in that row,
when the last file in the row is selected, pressing right arrow key
again doesn't select the first file in the bottom row.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Set nautilus to icon view
2) Open a folder with enough files to display several rows of icons
3) Select the top left icon in the navigation panel
4) Press and hold the right arrow key
Expected results:
- Upon reaching the last icon in the row, the selection advances to the leftmost icon in the row below the current one
Actual results:
- The selection is stuck on the rightmost icon of the current row
This causes great unnecessary effort to select files sequentially, as
now I have to press down when reaching the last icon in a row, and then
press the left key a great number of times, or keep it pressed.
