Message #46106
[Bug 881284] Re: Wired ICS constantly reconnecting
I do have exactly the same problem on 2 different notebooks (32bit and 64bit)!
It seems like "Shared to other computers" doesn't work anymore (wifi and lan, so i think its a problem with ip handling and not a driver problem?)... my workaround was reinstalling Ubuntu 11.04, where everything works fine... ;-)
I might add, that the first time, after a reboot, the connection "shared
with other computers" works for about 10 seconds, after that it
disconnects and every consecutive trial to reconnect will by
disconnected imediatly...
Also I think this is a huge bug, because it will probably affect many
people and affects pretty basic funktions like sharing a mobile internet
connection with other computers. Is there any other workaround then
mine, yet?
Thanks for helping!
Best regards,
Michael

Title:
Wired ICS constantly reconnecting
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I often find myself using my laptop to supply internet connection to my other computer which does not have a wireless interface.
When I use Ubuntu 11.10 for this it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting frantically and constantly.
The wired connection is set to "Shared to other computers". Have seen this issue on at least one other machine besides mine so far.
