[Bug 888072] [NEW] Make connecting and disconnecting to a VPN a breeze

Public bug reported:

VPNs are becoming more and more mainstream these days. Many users use
even more than one VPN provider. Hence, it would be nice to have an easy
access to the VPN and make it even easier to reconnect/disconnect.

Currently, the user has to follow this path: nm-applet > VPN Connections
> <vpn_provider>. There is a lot of scrolling involved. Often the VPN
timeouts and the user has to repeat this procedure over and over again
until he gets connected. How about the nm-applet remembers the last
chosen VPN provider in its top level menu? I attached a menu mock-up to
make clear what I mean by that. In its initial state (after restart or
so) it could show nothing as it does now (because not everyone will need
this feature), but after the first successful VPN connection an
additional top level menu entry could be added. [see the mockup]

** Affects: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
