[Bug 889081] [NEW] cannot connect to umts via qualcomm gobi 2000

after upgrading from 11.04 to 11.10, i cannot connect to my mobile
broadband provider any more.

the modem is detected correctly:

during boot:

not sure if it is a problem with the network-manager or some other component, but as i mentioned before, it used to work in
11.04.
