[Bug 889230] [NEW] wifi network not discovered, despite windows 7 and android seeing it

 

Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu the wifi network doesn't show up. On Windows 7 on the same
laptop it shows up. In Android on my phone it shows up. Range isn't the
issue, as the router is only about 2m away. Laptop (Dell Inspiron m301z)
hasn't had any wifi problems previously.

Router settings: It is a Virgin Media branded netgear router vmdg480
