[Bug 891834] [NEW] ubuntu 10.10 firefox 3.6.24 text/x-pdf file corruption

Public bug reported:

It has become apparent to me when using firefox and squirrelmail to send
PDF attachments, the browser wants to assign the mime type of
text/x-pdf.

When using this mime type, the pdf's always get corrupted at the
recipient webmail, thunderbird as well as my local webmail.

The only solution I found was to edit the mimeTypes.rdf file and remove
all occurrences of text/x-pdf

This did not happen in Google Chrome or my direct download of SeaMonkey.

The maintainer should look into eliminating the text/x-pdf mime type by
default

RFC indicates .pdf is to be associated with application/pdf which will
include the text/x-pdf type, but using the raw text/x-pdf type breaks
pdf files.

Thanks

** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu)
