[Bug 899748] [NEW] gstreamer v4l2src fails with device=

Public bug reported:

I have only one video device, it is /dev/video0.

This works:

$ gst-launch 'v4l2src ! xvimagesink'
Setting pipeline to PAUSED ...
Pipeline is live and does not need PREROLL ...
Setting pipeline to PLAYING ...
New clock: GstSystemClock
(video plays)

This does not work:

$ gst-launch 'v4l2src device=/dev/video0 ! xvimagesink'
Setting pipeline to PAUSED ...
Pipeline is live and does not need PREROLL ...
Setting pipeline to PLAYING ...
New clock: GstSystemClock
ERROR: from element /GstPipeline:pipeline0/GstV4l2Src:v4l2src0: Internal data flow error.
Additional debug info:
gstbasesrc.c(2582): gst_base_src_loop (): /GstPipeline:pipeline0/GstV4l2Src:v4l2src0:
streaming task paused, reason not-linked (-1)
Execution ended after 2532703705 ns.
Setting pipeline to PAUSED ...
Setting pipeline to READY ...
Setting pipeline to NULL ...
Freeing pipeline ...

This means that I cannot read from video1, or use v4l2loopback or
anything, since gstreamer apparently cannot deal with the device=
setting.

For the record, here is part of gst-inspect v4l2src:
