Message #54432
[Bug 899190] Re: Unable to open spreadsheet using --calc
Colin Law, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Marking Confirmed because I can replicate the problem. However, I am unable to mark Triaged as this looks like document corruption (which would most likely be marked Invalid and not supported upstream) or prior OOo/LO release save bug. In order to move forward on this please answer the following questions:
+ What software or specific version of OOo/LO was used to originally create the document?
+ Could you please attach the document that when opened does not demonstrate the problem, but when you make a simple, documentable change, then save, demonstrates this problem?
** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Confirmed

3) What is expected to happen in LibreOffice Calc via the Terminal:
cd ~/Desktop && wget
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/899190/+attachment/2616439/+files/test4.ods
&& libreoffice --calc test4.ods

4) What happens instead is the document is blank and the Terminal
shows:
libreoffice --calc test4.ods

Original Reporter Comments: Some edits to the document will fix the
problem, others do not.
WORKAROUND: Open it via the Terminal command:
libreoffice test4.ods
WORKAROUND: Copy the entire sheet from test4.ods into a new, blank
Calc document, save the document and then one may open via the
expected Terminal commands or by double clicking.
