Message #59584
[Bug 692039] Re: New memory function not clear
Okay, I'm now running Ubuntu 11.10 and Gcalctool 6.2.0 (on three
different machines) and it still has no visible memory function.
Seriously, is no one else really bothered by this?!? I think there must
be something wrong with me... but this is pretty much the most important
feature of a calculator for me (after +, -, * and /).
If this isn't being worked on, does Gnome need a new default calculator?
This is just embarrassing!
I'm not a programmer, but if there's anything I can do to help please
let me know!

Title:
New memory function not clear
Status in “gcalctool” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gcalctool
Up until 10.10 the built-in calculator had a memory facility which was better than the one in Windows, with multiple registers. Now the whole thing seems to have gone, and it's not just me, there are at least three other sufferers on this thread:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10226158
This makes the whole thing almost useless as a simple calculator. Is
it a deliberate crippling of the app, an accidental regression or a
bug that only affects certain people?
