Title:
Ubuntu Software Center Download problems
Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
I am Using
Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx LTS
Gnome 2.30.2
lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS
Release: 10.04
Software center version 2.1.17
I love the changes but ran into a bug hopefully
step1
I started by Get software > Games > Arcade > search results > Sauerbraten
it showed
In Progress (1)
System monitor showed constant 30 kBps download speed.
it even showed the download done / outof specs outside
at around 20% i closed the Ubuntu Software center by mistake
so had to start it again from Applications >USC
i thought my download may be interrupted or paused . Thought all i
had to do might be to resume or reinstall.
But on starting USC there was no in progress in the left pane so i
thought my download was discarded.
Then i went to search and again came to sauerbraten, clicked on it saw
it showed installing and a progress bar in red , But still system
monitor showed no network activity. Also In Progress -- was also
missing
went back and then again in it system monitor network history came alive but only temporarily it downloaded at 30 kbps for about 10 secs then it showed 45 kBps pulses every 5 secs.
In Progress bar returned but it was the v2.0.7 thingie with no download info.
Also there was no cross to to cancel
after repeatedly going back and forth tabs surprisingly ended up having a cancel button .
I cancelled current downoad and installed lsb through USC itself which was downloaded and installed properly after wards.
In Progress was back in left pane too.

edit - as the comments below
except the pulsing download speed i think it is a minor problem since it now shows 60 kBps/2 secs pulse so by dividing it u can assume it is an average.
