Seems thunderbird-related to me. Does it occur only with the menu or
does it occur with opening messages from Thunderbird itself as well?

  Clicking on Inbox from messaging menu results in hebrew e-mail
  displayed as gibberish

Bug description:
  Scenario:
  1)An e-mail written in Hebrew is received to Inbox
  2)Clicking on the messaging menu and "Inbox" where the 1 new message is indicated
  3)Thunderbird opens but displays the e-mail in gibberish instead of Hebrew(just the content, not the subject line).
  4)Clicking on another e-mail and then clicking back on the previous one makes it look ok.
  This happens both in Xubuntu and Unity.
