Re: [Bug 1380414] Re: sane_start: Invalid argument on Brother DCP-8155DN scanner
Hi Christopher,
Thank you for your email. I'm sorry, I'm afraid of messing up my
computer, which I use for work. My regrets.
If there is some way to put debug statements into some code for Ubuntu
14.04, and print the results, I would be glad to do that.
Linda

Title:
sane_start: Invalid argument on Brother DCP-8155DN scanner
Status in “sane-backends” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
The scanner works with an older Debian laptop, but not the newer
Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit laptop.
Output of scanimage -L:
device `brother4:bus2;dev1' is a Brother DCP-8155DN USB scanner
Output of scanimage -T:
scanimage: rounded value of br-x from 215.9 to 215.88
scanimage: rounded value of br-y from 355.6 to 355.567
scanimage: sane_start: Invalid argument
gscan2pdf doesn't work either, gives "invalid argument".
The scanner is connected in the USB 2.0 port.
I added the following line to /lib/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules :
