Message #77668
[Bug 1385622] [NEW] libgtk-3.a and libgdk-3.a missing in libgtk-3-dev
Public bug reported:
In one of the latest releases, you removed the static libraries from
libgtk-3-dev. (They were still there in 3.4.2 and are missing in
3.10.8-0ubuntu1.)
Please consider re-adding them. I have read in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdk-pixbuf/+bug/1101157 that
you removed them on purpose, but I must object to the claim that static
builds of gtk have so many issues that it is justified to remove the
static libraries at all. I admittetly build my static version of gtk
with `--disable-modules`, but with that build flag, I haven't
experienced any issues with statically linked gtk applications so far.
** Affects: gtk+3.0 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
