[Bug 1391376] [NEW] Monitor Unknown and max resolution missing

 

Public bug reported:

Would love to know how to teach ubuntu what monitor I have aswell as its
max resoultion so it can be selected from the display setting list.

Currently after a fresh install I only have 800x600 and 1024x768 as
options to select
