[Bug 1360246] Re: Crash / can not access Printer Configuration - Server Settings

Printing to network and samba connected printers has always been
problematic with Kubuntu and the KDE Desktop. The tools system settings
tools have improved, but still not ready for Prime Time, as a simple
update often reverses gains made by improvements. After a recent update
to my system (which had been working perfectly with network and samba
connected printers) using the Muon update manager, all my printers
stopped working. Accessing the system setting, printer configuration
tool allowed me to access the printer selection screen, but when I
selected a printer for a test print, the tool crashed. All subsequent
attempts to use the printer configuration function, either through
system settings or manually from a terminal crash before they even reach
the printer selection menu, with a resultant "segmentation error (11)".
