[Bug 1386346] Re: Desktop freezes on login
same happens on my i5-2500K desktop following upgrade from 14.04 to
14.10; interesting to note that I do have one user that is able to log
in and work as if there is no bug, while others (including guest and any
new one I create) can't

Title:
Desktop freezes on login
Status in “xserver-xorg-video-nouveau” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
On Utopic Final Release, both for Unity and Gnome , when logging in to
desktop, the screen freezes and becomes unresponsive after 2 secs of
showing up the desktop GUI screen. Not able to continue beyond that.
Do not face this issue with Beta 1 or Beta 2. The md5sum for iso file
is OK. Problem is repeatable everytime.
