[Bug 1393279] Re: Unable to scan with HP Laserjet 1220

 

I was not able to successfully scan booting under
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/

The dmesg output was similar to the error I find on trusty:

My wireless card was not supported in the live cd, so I did ubuntu-bug
--save=libsane.log libsane and the output is attached.

  Unable to scan with HP Laserjet 1220

Status in “sane-backends” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I am unable to scan in xsane and other scanning programs such as:
  sudo scanimage
  scanimage: open of device hpaio:/usb/HP_LaserJet_1220?serial=00XXXXXXXXXX failed: Invalid argument

  Switching from a USB 3 to USB2 port fixed my problem one time only.
