As sumarized here https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon
/provider-for-google-calendar/reviews/?page=2 google made changes that
broke xul-ext-gdata-provider.  I had this version installed.

  broke xul-ext-gdata-provider.  I had this version installed.
