Message #91174
[Bug 1406108] [NEW] Alert user if "Receive files in Downloads folder over Bluetooth" is not checked on incoming transfer
Public bug reported:
To receive a file from a paired device using bluetooth you must select
"Receive files in Downloads folder over Bluetooth" in the Personal File
Sharing Preferences. If the user does not know this, they will simply
get connection errors on the bluetooth device (in my case an Android
phone) and no errors or notifications on ubuntu showing why the error is
occuring.
It would be nice to notify the user when an incoming file is being
requested and this setting is disabled that this option must be enabled
for transfers to work. This warning could then be disabled by a "Don't
show this anymore" message.
See https://askubuntu.com/questions/131570/how-do-you-make-ubuntu-
accept-files-sent-over-bluetooth/132025#132025
