[Bug 1414847] [NEW] PROBLEMS

Public bug reported:

I keep getting a message at startup that says "unable to find /tmp" or unable to load /."
Plus, my sound will appear for a few minutes, then stop.
I tried to upgrade to newer version 14.10 and this thing went haywire.
What am I doing that's so wrong?
