Olav,
This obviously is not the right place to discuss how to make reports
and charts, but you can of course create other kinds of report tables
that do not cross tab on periods, so that a single period column(in
the report table) can appear as a series in a line chart.
We should cover in the user manual (I think all this belongs in the
user manual and not the implementation guide) what kind of report
tables are needed for the various types of charts etc.

Yes, I know the bar chart example isn't very good. The problem is
that I think a lot of the reports that are made have periods on
the crosstab dimension, and as far as I know that makes it
impossible to make a line chart - and since the bar chart is there
by default, I just ignored the whole issue...
